And now, she's eager to share her experience and knowledge to anyone who visits.

La Ondina Aquarium is open to the public, 24/7, so swim on by!

Freshwater Fish

These are some of the species you'll find during your visit.

Guppy
The Azim Steppe

This small fish was once considered common throughout the land. Due to its coloration, however, it has been sought after by many and pushed to near extinction.

Toadhead
Il Mheg

The large, inflated bags under the eyes of this fish are meant to deter predators. Fish enthusiasts find it bizarre, yet endearing and adorable, due to its jiggling movements.

Rockfish
The Peaks

Despite its rock-like appearance, this fish has a soft exterior. Most anglers are often stumped on how to catch it, as it only surfaces during a certain time of day.

Orn Butterfly
Dravania

These ornamental fish were transported by Sharlayans to populate fountains around beautiful structures. As fish usually do, they adapted to the area long after the Sharlayans left and now have a home in the Quickspill Delta.

Dravanian Squeaker
Dravania

The only thing more peculiar about this catfish's pattern is the way it swims upside down to confuse both predator and prey. Angler's however, could not care less and will catch it all the same.

Poecilia
Il Mheg

Like its distant cousin, the Guppy, this specimen holds many beautiful colors on its scales. However, this isn't a celebration of genetics. Old legends depict mythical creatures using magic to create the most extravagant patterns on these fish.

Marble Oscar
The Dravanian Forelands

Preferring to live in warmer waters, these oscars are as heated as their habitats. They defend their territory from other fish by chasing them away. Because of this, it is crucial to allow them ample space in community tanks.

Redfin
The Azim Steppe

This perch, plainly named after the red coloration on its fins, is commonly found in calm waters. It is speculated that this fish population spreads when its eggs stick to wading birds that travel to new bodies of water. The Redfin that resides at this aquarium is named Dana.

Discus
Thanalan, La Noscea

Many characteristics of this cichlid, such as its appearance and temperament, make it highly appealing to aquarium enthusiasts. It is commonly found in rivers located in temperate climates.

Elder Gourami
Othard

Its long ventral fins have earned this fish the title "elder" among the tribes of the Azim Steppe due to the resemblance of a long beard. Similar to lungs, this fish has an organ that allows them to surface and breathe in oxygen when water lacks the proper amount.

Warden of the Seven Hues
Yanxia

Similar to a blank canvas, this carp is thought to be born white as bone and gradually exposed to the colorful, aetherial waters of Prism Lake. Anglers from all over the land came together to study patterns of this fish in hopes of catching it, only few succeeding.

Saltwater Fish

These are some of the species you'll find during your visit.

Harutsuge
The Ruby Sea

This small fish is commonly found in The Ruby Sea. They hatch in large numbers and make their way to the Indigo Deep. Many care for these in their own aquariums due to their vibrant red coloring.

Harbor Herring
La Noscea, Thanalan

Despite how common this fish is, it is considered by many to be "Silver of the Sea", as it is constantly harvested for its flesh and eggs.

Tiger Cod
La Noscea, Thanalan

Named after the tigers found in Othard, these saltwater fish are caught mostly to be fried with a side of popotoes rather than be kept in aquariums.

Hanatatsu
Kugane

This large seahorse-like creature has evolved over time to blend in with surrounding corals. It remains upright even in movement, and often looks stiff and emotionless. As a result, some might find it boring to look at.

Aurelia Polyp
The Deep Sea

This radiant jellyfish was first discovered during a deep sea voyage. Through curiosity and amusement, it latched itself onto the submersible airship as it returned to the surface. The crew discovered the Polyp as it ascended above the water in a floating state. After failing to contain the creature, they observed it had no intention of fleeing; it followed various crew members as they performed tasks and did not attack unless provoked. Because of this, the Polyp was considered a friendly companion. Since then, they have been a common sight throughout Eorzea.

About the Owner

Dane is a 25-year-old woman from Gridania. Her thirst for adventure at a young age led to her an old angler in the Central Shroud where she had her first experience with fishing. From that day forward, Dane spent a lot of her time near or in the water, catching any type of fish she could. She yearned to travel the star and see what life was like outside of her own little fishing hole of a home.Currently, Dane has stepped back from fishing and devotes most of her time to Flourish as an officer of the Free Company and tending to her aquarium. She also performs once or twice a moon at various venues.OOC: Thank you so much for stopping by! If you'd like, please check out my other sites below.
